Bryan Knowlton
Dance, Acting
Bryan Knowlton has had the wonderful opportunity to perform with artists ranging from Meryl Streep, Sally Struthers, and Cynthia Nixon, to dancing alongside Savion Glover on Broadway at New York's famous City Center. He also was an original cast member in Cameron Mackintosh's first national tour of Oliver!, direct from London, where he later performed the role of Noah Claypole for the second national. Bryan has a long history with Michael Bennett's A Chorus Line, having played the role of Paul on Broadway, and directed a number of productions at regional theatres across the country.
Stephen Purdy
Vocal Performance
Stephen Purdy founded and is principal coach at the New York Vocal Coaching Studio, a vocal and music services studio for Broadway performers, and his clients have been cast in the Broadway and touring companies of virtually every major Broadway musical of the last decade including Wicked, Mamma Mia!, Billy Elliot, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera and many others. His clients are also performing in regional theatres and on concert stages across the globe. As a musical director and conductor for the musical theatre stage, Stephen's Broadway, off-Broadway and National touring credits include Tarzan, Spelling Bee, Peter Pan (starring Cathy Rigby - both in New York and on tour), The Full Monty, The Fantasticks, Frankenstein (Original cast recording), Me and My Girl, The King and I and Sweet Charity. Stephen spent nearly five years touring throughout Europe with Grease (Paris and European tours), A Chorus Line and 42nd Street, and My Fair Lady in Hong Kong (cast recording). Major regional theatre credits include the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., and The York Theatre and The Public Theatre in NYC. Television includes work for A and E, PBS and the BRAVO channel. Stephen studied voice and piano at U of M, conducting at the Juilliard school, and currently Vocal pedagogy and coaching at Westminster. His first book entitled “Does this song make me look fat?” a song preparation and audition guide for performers is due in bookstores late next year. Stephen lives in New York City.
